Gold Bow Day Message!Reminds us to be aware of Thyroid Cancer symptoms!
The Australian Thyroid Foundation want all Australians to be aware of how important it is to Check Your Neck and be Aware of Thyroid Changes and Symptoms! If you are experiencing any changes to the area of your neck around your thyroid gland, or have any of the symptoms listed below, ensure you make an appointment with your doctor. Ask for a Thyroid Ultrasound to be ordered, which will determine or eliminate any concern. The physical health of the thyroid gland can only be determined by asking your doctor to order aThyroid Ultrasound. A Thyroid Ultrasound shows the size, shape and texture of the gland and if any nodules have developed on the gland. Without a Thyroid Ultrasound, thyroid cancer may be overlooked or dismissed. Do Not Ignore Any of the following symptoms
Thyroid Function Blood Tests determine how your thyroid gland is functioning, or if your prescribed dose of Levothyroxine is adequate. Blood tests also determine if you have a Thyroid Autoimmune Disease – Hashimoto’s or Graves’ Disease. A Thyroid Ultrasound determines the physical health of the thyroid gland.
