Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit The Australian Thyroid Foundation (ATF) website.
The ATF’s website is designed to give a preview of thyroid information, a summary of the organisation, member registration, with an online shop and payment access as well as a Member’s Section. The Member’s Section gives members the most up-to-date information, support and education available.
The ATF is honoured and privileged to have Professor Creswell Eastman AM as Principal Medical Advisor along with Chief Medical Advisor’s Professor Bruce Robinson, Professor Leigh Delbridge, Professor Duncan Topliss, Professor Jack Wall, Pharmacist - Dr Geraldine Moses and Dietitian and Nutritionist - Susie Burrell.
I am as passionate today, as I was when I became President in 1999. My title was changed to CEO in 2016. Leading the ATF’s Executive Committee has given me the opportunity to work with other dedicated people who volunteer their time to upgrade member services, raise awareness about iodine deficiency and thyroid disorders and ensures the ATF’s growth as the Australian Thyroid Patient Support and Educational Organisation and Consumer Advocacy Organisation for thyroid disorders and iodine deficiency continues.
I have had the opportunity during the years as President and CEO, to represent The ATF at thyroid medical conferences, here in Australia and around the world. Meeting doctors and researchers who devote their life’s work to improving treatments, medications and outcomes for thyroid patients has been a rewarding learning experience and very beneficial to the ATF. Being able to pass on medical research outcomes to our members, enables our members to have the best information, allowing them to discuss the best treatment choices with their treating doctors.
The ATF is a member of Thyroid Federation International (TFI), a world-wide thyroid patient organisation dedicated to global action of thyroid related issues. The ATF is also a proud member of The Association of Genetic Support of Australasia.
If you or one of your family has been affected by some form of thyroid disorder, I encourage you to become a member of The ATF. Having access to all our member services and information, will empower you to make the right decisions to benefit from Good Thyroid Health. As a patient support organisation, The ATF provide one on one support to all members of the organisation. The ATF needs your membership and donations to support the services the ATF provide by educating and supporting you and many other Australians affected with thyroid disorders and by raising awareness throughout the Australian community about the benefits of good thyroid health and how to achieve it.
